Friday, June 1 (Car Free Day)

Car Free Morning: On June 1, between 8:00 and 10:00 AM, Ortona Road will be closed for vehicular access. The Walking School Bus will leave early for kids to participate fun activities and games, check out the fire truck and meet a RCMP officer. See road closure notification for alternative drop-off points.

End of Year Staff Appreciation Lunch – June 13

This is our opportunity as parents to show all the staff at NRP just how much we appreciate all the amazing work they do! We could spoil them with a feast!

1, If you’re bringing a fresh dish of your choice to the school on June 13, please click on this link to signup www.PerfectPotluck.com/WUYD3846 and drop off the food in Multicultural Room (the big room right across the school office) before 11:30am. One of our parent volunteers will be assisting you.

2, If you are unable to come on the day, but still willing to contribute, you can bring in the beverages and we will store them at school until the event.

3, You can also come on the day to help with the decoration and clean up by signing up the volunteer role. Volunteer Sign-up

Spring Fair Tickets go on pre-sale TOMORROW!

Starting this week, we will be pre-selling tickets for the Fair. Ticket booth will be open from Monday to Thursday at 8:30-9:00am, lunch time 12:00-1:00pm and 2:30-3:15pm in the main foyer. Tickets will also be sold throughout the Fair.

Ticket price: $1/ticket or $10/15 tickets. Tickets can be used for activities, games and snack bars.

We want to thank all the parents who have signed up to help at the Fair on Friday. We are still in need of help between 3pm and 8pm. You would be helping to monitor one of the game stations or clean up afterwards. If you can spare some time, please signup here.

The Spring Fair Committee has put a lot of efforts to bring everyone a fun and memorable afternoon, please invite family and friends.

Please note: the Visitor Parking lot will be closed from 12pm to 8pm on May 11. Ortona Road will not be effected for pick up, however please do not leave your car unattended. We encourage everyone to walk or bike to the Fair.

Volunteer needed for Spring Fair

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Thank you for those who have already signed up to volunteer on Spring Fair day. We are still looking for volunteers who can spare one or two hours to help managing the activity/game stations and clean up after the event. Please click here to signup. If you have difficulty using the online signup system, we have set up a volunteer signup table in the lobby, please write your name, availability and email on the signup sheet. Alternately, you can email rosepointpac@gmail.com with your name and preferred time slots (3pm – 8pm); we will contact you with all the details before the event .IMG_2968

There will be a short orientation session for the volunteers on the day before you go to your station, also we will have a “Volunteer Information” station at the Fair.

The biggest event of the year is coming up on May 11, 2018. Our annual Spring Fair is a popular community-building event.  Not only does it offer a fun afternoon for our NRP families and neighbours, the fair is also a fundraising event to raise funds to support schools with less resources. Please invite your family, friends and neighbours.

Ticket will go on pre-sale from May 7.

Food Bank and volunteer call for Lost & Found clean up

Food Bank Drive

Please note, Food Bank Donation boxes will be picked up on Tuesday Dec. 19, all donations must be in their original box/package as we can not donate any loose items. Thank you for your donation!

Call for volunteer – Lost & Found final clean up

We are looking for 1-2 parent volunteers to help with Lost & Found final clean up. We will wash/dry all the clothes, clean all the containers/water bottles, and have them packed in boxes/bags. All items will be donated to a local YMCA day care, who only deals with at risk families. If you can spare 1-2 hours on Monday or Tuesday morning, please send an email to rosepointpac@gmail.com with your availabilities. Thank you!

A Couple of reminders…

1, Scholastic Book Fair is happening on both Wednesday Oct. 25 (2-5pm) and Thursday Oct. 26 (8-9am & 2-5pm). The school librarian is still looking for one parent volunteer to cover the shifts on Wednesday at 2pm and Thursday at 2pm for an hour to 90 minutes to help with the book sales. Please contact Adrienne Wood anwood@vsb.bc.ca if you can lend a hand.

2, There are still some food containers in the staff room from the staff appreciation lunch, next time when you are in school, please remember to step into the staff room located in the school office to get your containers.

3, Parent-Teacher Conferences on Wednesday Oct. 25 & Thursday Oct. 26. Early dismissal (2pm) on both days. For K-Gr.2 families, students are asked not to participate at the conference; for Gr. 3-8 families, please bring your child to the conference with you. This is a conference where teachers/students will present the goals for this school year, parents will get an idea of what to expect and how we as parents can help our kids to achieve their goals.

4, After school programs: there is no Lego Robotics class on Wednesday Oct. 25; the Young Rembrandts will start one hour earlier (at 2pm) on Thursday Oct. 26.
