K3 concert and Safety Patrol

Dear Parents,
Concert:
For those in K-3 we want to remind you of the concert this evening. You childs community will have communicated to you when you are to have your child at the school.
We would like to encourage all parents to walk to this event. Parking, as we all know, is extremely limited and we do not want to see cars parked on the road.
Also, after the concert finishes Ms. Tamara will make an announcement. We hope that you can spare a few minutes of your time to help stack chairs and return the instruments to the music room. There will be a list posted as to where things go (some of the stands are also labelled). If you have any questions, I will be there to help as well.
Safety Patrol Concerns:
For those parents who do not know, each morning and afternoon a few kids put on vests and help kids and families who walk (or roll) to school cross the busy street safely. It has come to my attention that on a fairly regular basis some parent drivers are not waiting for the safety patrollers before they drive through the crosswalk. Please remember to be patient. The kids safety should be top priority. Last thing we all want is for a child to be hit in the crosswalk because we are inpatient.
Thank you
Jody

K-3 Parents: We Need Your Help!

Attention K-3 families:

This Thursday evening we will be treated to a great winter concert. Ms. Tamara, our incredible music teacher, has worked really hard with the kids to prepare a fun concert.

After the concert I would like to ask for all the parents help. All the instruments will need to be returned to the K5 music room and all the chairs will need to be stacked. If we all lend a hand this should only take us 10 minutes to clean up. And it would be a great “thank you” to Ms. Tamara!

See you all Thursday at 6:15pm!

Looking for more Multicultural Day Countries!

Multicultural day Meeting!

We will have a meeting January 22 at 9 am in the room beside the main office!

Anyone who did not attend last time but is interested in representing your country or culture on February 11th at Multicultural day, it is not too late to sign up!

Even if you are unsure or overwhelmed by the idea of setting up a booth, please come to listen to other countries ideas/plans and then make a decision if this is something you want to sign up for!

Last year we had 11 countries and this year we have only 7!

Hope to see you there!

LUNCH VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Just a friendly reminder to sign up as a lunch volunteer in the coming months. It’s a great opportunity to talk with other parents and to see your kids out playing at lunch!

If everyone who participated in the lunch program volunteered once we would have enough volunteers for the year! We are currently short some days every week and it is disheartening to the core volunteers who take time out of their busy schedules every week to keep this fundraising going. The funds are essential to the programs, activities and materials that all students and teachers at Norma Rose Point benefits from.

School back Monday / Cedar Pyjama Day

Happy New Year to all of you. Hard to believe it is almost time for the kids to get back to school.
Just a reminder that, due to the unexpected and abrupt beginning of the holidays, the Cedar Community (Grade 3`s) will be having their Pyjama Day on Monday!!
Dress your child in pyjamas, send their favorite book and blanket and pillow (if they wish).
For those other communities that were to have pyjama day or camp out I will connect with the teachers and see if they will be re scheduled. Stay tuned!
