A Couple of reminders…

1, Scholastic Book Fair is happening on both Wednesday Oct. 25 (2-5pm) and Thursday Oct. 26 (8-9am & 2-5pm). The school librarian is still looking for one parent volunteer to cover the shifts on Wednesday at 2pm and Thursday at 2pm for an hour to 90 minutes to help with the book sales. Please contact Adrienne Wood anwood@vsb.bc.ca if you can lend a hand.

2, There are still some food containers in the staff room from the staff appreciation lunch, next time when you are in school, please remember to step into the staff room located in the school office to get your containers.

For K-Gr.2 families, students are asked not to participate at the conference; for Gr. 3-8 families, please bring your child to the conference with you. This is a conference where teachers/students will present the goals for this school year, parents will get an idea of what to expect and how we as parents can help our kids to achieve their goals.

So far, the direct appeal has raised about $23,000! Thank you to each and every parent who has been able to make a donation. We are so close to the goal amount that school had asked for: $25,000. We are still open for receiving donations. If you have yet to donate (and you are able to), please drop off a cheque or cash with your info filled on the green form to the main office. You can also donate through PayPal option on the PAC website, or the Fundraising function on MunchaLunch. All the money will go directly to items on the direct appeal wishlist.

NRP Book Fair

Here is a message on NRP App:

Dear Parents and Families,

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school! What better way to promote reading to our students than by supporting this important literary event.

We invite your entire family to participate by purchasing the latest and greatest in children’sbooks. Your support of this vital literary event is a key part of helping us obtain new books and resources for our library and classrooms.

You’ll find hundreds of quality books at our Book Fair with a wide assortment for all reading levels. Visit the Scholastic Book Fairs website at http://www.scholastic.ca/bookfairs to get more detailed information about these books. You can also watch book trailers and author videos with your child on the BookTube page.

A Book Fair flyer was sent home that provides a preview of only a FEW of the many books available to purchase at our Fair. The flyer also contains a special draw ballot that parents can deposit during our event. You could win $50 in books – $25 for your family PLUS $25for your child’s classroom!

Don’t forget to mark the Book Fair dates on your calendar! We look forward to seeing you during our Scholastic Book Fair and thank you, in advance, for supporting this great literary event. Thank you for believing in books and the impact of reading on your child’s future.

Sincerely,
Pamela Lowe and Adrienne Wood: Teacher-Librarians at NRP

Book Fair Dates & Times: Oct. 25th: 2-5pm and Oct. 26th: 8-9am and 2-5pm Location: Learning Commons at Norma Rose Point

We accept cheques made payable to our school. Visa, MasterCard and American Express are welcome, too.
