Message about book return / Info on Walk n Roll week…

Here is a message from Adrienne regarding library book return:

We’ve had a wonderful year and 38,434 books have been circulated!

Please note the following: All books are due June 3rd

Please return all library books before or on June 3rd for inventory. Please help get every book back into the Learning Commons by cleaning up your cubbies, lockers, and looking in the corners and cupboards in your learning community. Help out your classmates and teachers and work at a team to scavenge for books! Sometimes they end up in strange places – look under shelves and in nooks and crannies too. Sift through your classroom library – the books from the Library have a barcode on the front.  If you have taken books home have a look for any books you’ve forgotten to return.

Thanks for your help and support!

A Wonderful Spring Fair!

I wish to thank all of you who came and enjoyed Spring Fair yesterday. We were so lucky to have amazing weather!
My biggest and heartfelt thanks to all the amazing parents who volunteered throughout the Fair. Not only did you come help but we also had amazing volunteers from Grade 6, 8 and even some NRP graduates now in Grade 9!
I think the biggest thank you however needs to go to the Spring Fair Committee: Arthur Louie, Jennifer Figarski, Sharon Yu, Kelli Kadokawa, Henry Mao, Fei Liu, Helena Carneiro, and Fariba Hafezi. Thanks also to Marcio Cavalcanti De Albequerque who, despite being in Brazil a lot of the time, designed all the poster artwork!
We would love a bit of feedback (other than more popsicles ) so we can continue to make this event better for next year.
We will provide a full finanicial breakdown for everyone at the June 19th PAC Meeting. What I can say right now is it looks like our Silent Auction was a huge success. Thank you to everyone who bid and congratulations to those who won!
Have a wonderful rest of your weekend!

Last minute reminders for Spring Fair

Wow! Spring Fair is here! Hope everyone is excited as we are!

Before I pass a couple things on about Spring Fair I want to remind all parents who order lunch for their child that SUSHI SUSHI (Tuesday and Thursday lunch providers) IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE! We have cancelled those lunches and have sent out numerous reminders however, there are still kids coming to the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays saying they have no food but usually would have Sushi. Please check your orders and either re-order from Calhoun`s or remember to send a packed lunch. We do not like to see any child going hungry at school. Thank you

Now….Spring Fair!

Just a reminder that this is a PAC fundraiser so if you have leftover tickets at the end of the evening we will not be giving refunds, We will have a tables throughout the entire fair selling tickets so feel free to buy a small amount at a time and come back to buy more if needed.

Also, we have added a booth in case you still want to order a NRP Yearbook. It will be cash sale….$30.

Be sure to wear sunscreen tomorrow. It is forecast to be a beautiful but hot day!

Before I send the final information about Spring Fair I wanted to say a huge thank you to all the NRP staff that organized the Terry Fox Run this year. It was so fun!
Of course I also wish to pass on my sincere thanks to all the amazing parents who came to cut oranges (so sorry about my miscalculation) and those who stood along the running routes making sure all our kids were safe. You all helped make this a great day for all the NRP kids! Thank you so much.

Message from NRP staff about the upcoming Volunteer Tea

Although your Childs teacher will do their best to find you in person, I was asked by some of the staff of NRP to let parents know:

If you volunteer at NRP, whether it is in the class, helping on field trips, helping with school clubs, helping with school events (like the Terry Fox Run), with the lunch program, or in any other capacity, you are all invited to attend the annual

NRP Volunteer Appreciation Tea

It will be held Monday May 13th from 10:15-11:15am

This is an event I have attended many times and I have to say the staff always puts on an amazing event. It is a time when they are able to say thank you to parents who help make the school that much better.

If you volunteer, please consider dropping in.
